What do you know about dinosaurs?...What really happened to the dinosaurs?...
Well, you are now on your way, traveling through the Mesozoic Era, 230 million years ago, many millions of years before the first modern humans appeared. In this lesson students will learn how big were the dinosaurs. In addition, students will be able to create and personalized their own storybook using the main idea of the book How Big Were the Dinosaurs? by Bernard Most. Also, they are going to create a newsletter using the main idea of the book. Parents are allowed to help the students if they have some troubles accessing the digital tools. Let students explore the past and use their imagination. |

With this lesson, students will be able to learn how big were the dinosaurs. Students will be able to recognize the dinosaurs were bigger than everyday things. After reading the book, students will be able to create their own storybook according to the main idea of the book. They will use Storybird, which is a story books creator. Once done, they will create a newsletter, also according to book's main idea. They will use Smore, which is a newsletter designer. Then, each student will present to the group their storybook and newsletter. |

procedure
Activity A
- Teacher will provide each student with a book ( How Big Were the Dinosaurs? by Bernard Most) and they will start the activity individually.
- Students will analyze the main idea of the book, afterwards they will start to figure out the story elemtents of their own storybook.
- Then, the students will be asked to write their own story using Storybird
- The teacher will model an example from YouTube, to give the students a better idea of what is expect. How to use storybird
- Students will be given a rubric, that states the requirements needed for the storybook.
- After the rubric, students may proceed with there work on Storybird
- Then, the students have finished their story, the teacher will make sure the storybook is following the guidelines on the rubric
- After Activity A
- Students will again analyze the book's main idea
- Then, students will create a newsletter using Smore
- The teacher will show an example from YouTube, to give the students a better understanding. Getting started on Smore
- Students will be given a rubric, that states the requirements needed for the newsletter
- After the rubric, students proceed with there work on Smore
- Then, the students have finished their newsletter, the teacher will make sure the newsletter is following the guidelines on the rubric

The teacher will assess the student ( according to the rubric) in a grade scale from 1-4 points, 4 being the highest number of points that each student can obtain in each activity, the storybook and the newsletter.

conclusion
In conclusion, by the end of this activity students will learn how big were the dinosaurs and they also learn how to use digital tools such as Storybird and Smore. This activity is created to engage the students to learn more about the Mezosoic Era and learn more about the extinct dinosaurs.
